The Botox Clinic

What is Botox®?
Botox® or Botulinum toxin is a drug which was initially used for the treatment of different disorders characterized by excessive or inappropriate muscle contraction.
More recently, the use of this medication was expanded to tackle many undesirable facial wrinkles and furrows caused by the underlying muscles.

Where is Botox ® used?
Botox® is used for the treatment of migraine headaches, torticollis or neck spasm, low back pain, blepharospasm or spasm of the eyelids, eye movement disorders, tics and tremors as well as in the some disorders of the gastrointestinal tract like anal spasm and fissures.
Botox® is also used to stop excessive sweating of the palms and armpits and can reduce some types of abnormal facial sweating.
Cosmetically, Botox® eliminates the wrinkles located on the forehead, in the area between the eyes (glabella), and around the eyes (crow’s feet). It also helps elevate the eyebrows and attenuate the skin lines around the nose, the lips and the neck.

How long does the effect of Botox® last?
The full effect of Botox® usually lasts between three and 5 months. Repeated treatments are then necessary to maintain its effect.

What is the Botox Clinic?
The Botox clinic was started in 2002. The aim of this clinic is to provide in one setting the full range of treatments Botox® is used for.
Dr. Melki, who is certified by the American board of Plastic surgeons, uses Botox® for the treatment of excessive sweating as well as in facial rejuvenation to eliminate facial and neck lines and to help raise the eyebrows.
Botox® is also used by Dr. Melki as an adjunct to facial peeling, laser resurfacing and skin fillers.
At the Botox® clinic you will also find an American board certified neurologist who will address migraine headaches as well as neck and back pain.
